Open Office Hours: Let’s Chat!

Have a quick question? Want to talk to a human? Call me during Open Office Hour.

Here’s how it works: Once a week, on Thursday between 10am and 11am (Pacific time — what’s this in your time zone?), I have my phone turned on and will answer whoever calls me (the number is 909-240-7647).

This is the only way to get free advice from me by phone. It’s first-come, first-served, I don’t make appointments during this time, and I will talk to whoever calls for as long as they need.

Of course, you are free to call that number anytime, but the chances are almost zero that I’ll answer if it’s not Open Office Hour. And I pretty much don’t return phone messages, ever. See below for my email policy.

Topics to ask me about: Well, you can ask me anything, but I’m most likely to have a decent answer for questions about:

  • WordPress (blogs, blogsites, plugins, themes, “can WP do this?”)
  • AWeber (email lists, email marketing, autoresponders, delivering e-courses)
  • E-Junkie (shopping cart, product creation, affiliate program)
  • PayPal (creating and using “buy now” buttons, etc.)

So if you’ve been wondering whether there’s a plugin that does what you need? Call and ask. If you’re not sure how to configure your E-Junkie thank-you page? Call and ask. If you need help figuring out what exactly double-opt-in means? Call and ask. And of course you can ask about my lovely children and diabetic cat too.

Email me anytime

Got a question? Wondering if, or how, I can help you? Use this quick and easy form to send me an email. I generally respond within 3 business days. But sometimes I don’t. Which is why I have this:

My zero-guilt email policy (with a tip of the hat to Havi’s 100% guilt-free email policy): I am under no obligation to answer emails that come from this form (or, indeed, any emails I receive). My inbox is just as crowded as yours is. And if you really need to hear from me, I trust that you’ll try again in a few days or find another way to contact me (I’m on Twitter a lot these days, and there’s always Open Office Hour).

Also? I don’t use autoresponders for my personal email (and I consider email sent from this contact form to be personal). I think they’re annoying, unprofessional, and impolite. So if you don’t get a response immediately, remember how we’re all deluged with email every day. Take a chill pill. Wait a few days, and try again.

If you can’t wait, because it’s urgent and you need something now? You should find someone who likes to do rush work. I don’t.
