Here’s what you get with the ongoing Peace of Mind Program:

1. I’ll keep your site backed up with automated, scheduled backups, performed by my favorite premium plugin, SolidBackups.
2. Security monitoring via the WordFence security plugin, to block unauthorized logins, brute force attacks, and more.
3. Copies of your backups will be stored in two locations: Your server (easily accessible from your WordPress dashboard) and my secure Amazon S3 server (in case anything ever happens to your web server or your web host).
4. I’ll make sure the PHP version of your site is updated to 8.2+ (if your web host allows it).
5. If you don’t already have it set up, I’ll install and configure a free LetsEncrypt SSL Certificate to securely encrypt your website traffic and display the “green padlock icon” next to your site address (your web host must allow this, and sadly, not all hosts do — contact me if you have questions about your host).
6. I’ll log into your site twice-monthly (or whenever a major update is released) and update everything (WordPress, your theme, and your plugins).
7. I’ll set you up with an uptime-monitoring service (either Jetpack or UptimeRobot) so you and I will both be notified if your site goes down, and I can swing into action to get it working again.
8. If something should happen to your site such that you require restoring from a backup (may it never happen!), I will restore your site from the last full SolidBackups backup.
9. You’ll be able to use the premium Gravity Forms plugin for your site’s contact form, and I’ll set up spam protection and email logging so you’ll never miss another contact form message.

A couple of important caveats:

You should understand that while having backups in place is very important, that alone does not increase the security of your website — it just allows you to recover more quickly, without loss of data.

Staying updated does have significant security benefits, but it is only one part of the security puzzle. I can’t guarantee that you’ll be completely safe from hackers, vulnerabilities in your web hosting setup or site code, or random unforeseen events.

That said, I strongly believe that the most basic backup and update procedures (which is exactly what’s included in the WordPress Peace of Mind Program) are the most important.

If you are fully backed up and updated, your website is less vulnerable to malicious intruders than the majority of sites out there. And online criminals tend to go for the easy targets.
