You have my word: I won’t bother you with email if you don’t want to be bothered with email.
If you want to be notified whenever I publish a new article, you can subscribe to my email list. I also use email lists to communicate with my class participants and other customers. All of these are lists handled with AWeber, which takes email spam way seriously. They won’t even let me send you one email until you’ve confirmed your email address (that’s the whole “double opt-in” thing at work). And when you unsubscribe? You really unsubscribe.
Your email address is safe with me. I won’t ever share (sell, rent, disclose, etc. etc.) it with anyone but AWeber (here’s their privacy policy, to which all their users must agree).

Refunds and Cancellations
I do not refund fees for services I’ve performed. Once you’ve given me your login information, your project is ineligible for a refund. Once the work is done, it can’t be undone.
If you decide to cancel your registration for a live class, your fee is refundable up to 7 days prior to the start date. Fees are non-refundable if you cancel less than one week prior to the (first) class date.
