I like helping people.
Chances are, the reason you landed on my site is because you need help. Maybe technology help, maybe help launching your business, or maybe you are looking for a fellow solopreneur to share your challenges and triumphs.
Yes, I can help you with those things.
And even if we’re not a perfect fit, I sincerely want you to find the help you need. So I’ll be happy to recommend other resources to you, people and products that might be able to give you something I can’t.
I’m not a hard-sell kind of person; I’m really not interested in convincing you that you need to hire me or buy my products. If you are attracted to the services I provide, the advice I offer, or the words I write here, I trust that you’ll let me know, when the time is right.
I like technology.
I love WordPress, AWeber, E-Junkie, and Google. I don’t love PayPal but I do use it every day and can probably get it working for you. I love to play with these tools and see what fun new shapes I can twist them into. Chances are, there’s a shape that fits your business just perfectly. And that shape can change as your business grows and you need new tools and systems.
See, the secret is, the work I do isn’t really about technology. It seems like that, on the surface. But really, it’s about connection. Connecting people with each other, connecting businesses with customers, connecting business owners with their dreams and goals.
Helping people + technology geekiness = what I do.
I don’t do hard sells. I would much rather appeal to love than appeal to fear.
I don’t do rush jobs. Seriously. Don’t even ask. Find yourself a deadline-loving last-minute adrenaline junkie. That’s not me.
I don’t take orders. Hire yourself an employee if that floats your boat.
Who am I?
I’m a woman, an entrepreneur, a mother (my daughter and son are 9 and 5, respectively), a voracious reader, an organic gardener, a bit of a food snob, and an animal person (I live with two cats, and the hummingbirds that hang out at my office-window feeder are a daily joy).
My top priority is and will always be my family. Not technology, not money, not business. When my kids grow up, I want them to remember that their mom was there for them, not that I worked crazy hours answering email.
My three favorite things to do (at least the ones that are SFW): Sleeping, reading (preferably fiction, but lots of other stuff too) and eating.
I’m also curious, funny, smart, and empathetic. I don’t want to whip your website and business into shape; I’d rather tune into your difficulties and offer some compassionate tips for you to help yourself.
Oh, did you want to know about my skills?
I’ve been building websites since the early 1990′s, and I’ve forgotten more about HTML and CSS than most people have ever learned. When it comes to coding, my perfectionist streak serves me (and my clients) well.
I love teaching technology teleclasses and webinars. I love to connect with people on the phone — it’s a great way to use my whizbang technology skills to help folks who are overwhelmed by technolog, scared of doing it wrong but equally scared that they can’t afford to hire someone to fix it. My compassionate teaching style lets them ask questions without fear, gives them much-needed support, and leaves them with a new feeling of empowerment.
Yes, that’s really a picture of me. It’s a self-portrait taken with my awesome underwater camera!
If you have any questions about my work or how I can help you, let’s talk.
